This alone got me interested in his other projects, a group which includes a podcast called\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/thechampsyo.com\/\"><em>The Champs<\/em><\/a>[<a href=\"feed:\/\/thechamps.libsyn.com\/rss\">RSS<\/a>] [<a href=\"http:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/podcast\/champs-neal-brennan-moshe\/id450453090\">iTunes<\/a>]. He hosts it with fellow comedian Neal Brennan, known as the co-creator of<em>Chapelle\u2019s Show<\/em>, and someone named DJ Douggpound, who seldom verbally interjects but fires off many a sound clip \u2014 \u201cdrops,\u201d as the radio industry calls them, or called them long ago when the technology was a novelty \u2014 using his iPad. So you have these three guys, and\u00a0<em>then<\/em>\u00a0they\u2019re doing an interview show, questioning a different guest each week and everything. While none of these qualities sounded particularly innovative in and of itself, they all combined to give me reason to suspect something&#8230;\u00a0<em>alive<\/em>\u00a0in this podcast. Something spirited.<\/p>\n<p>Downloading episodes, I found interviews with quite a few creators, celebrities, and other public figures I don\u2019t normally hear dropping by podcasts:\u00a0<em>Hollywood Shuffle<\/em>\u00a0director (and\u00a0<em>Meteor Man<\/em>himself) Robert Townsend [<a href=\"http:\/\/traffic.libsyn.com\/thechamps\/Robert_Townsend_Output.mp3\">MP3<\/a>], noted Eddie Murphy sibling Charlie Murphy [<a href=\"http:\/\/traffic.libsyn.com\/thechamps\/Charlie_Output.mp3\">MP3<\/a>], genre-defeating electronic musician Flying Lotus [<a href=\"http:\/\/traffic.libsyn.com\/thechamps\/Sasha_GreyFlying_Lotus_Part_1_Output.mp3\">MP3<\/a>\u00a01] [<a href=\"http:\/\/traffic.libsyn.com\/thechamps\/SashaFlyLo_2_-_Output.mp3\">MP3<\/a>\u00a02]. David Alan Grier [<a href=\"http:\/\/traffic.libsyn.com\/thechamps\/David_Allen_Grier_-_Output.mp3\">MP3<\/a>], to whose every appearance on\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.maximumfun.org\/2009\/04\/12\/podthoughts-colin-marshall-adam-carolla-podcast\">Adam Carolla\u2019s show<\/a>\u00a0I download, and The Roots\u2019 Questlove [<a href=\"http:\/\/traffic.libsyn.com\/thechamps\/Questlove_output.mp3\">MP3<\/a>], whom I still remember enjoying on Aisha Tyler\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.maximumfun.org\/2011\/11\/20\/podthoughts-colin-marshall-girl-guy\"><em>Girl on Guy<\/em><\/a>, also grabbed my attention.
