Her novels include Peony in Love, Snow Flower and Secret Fan, Shanghai Girls, Dreams of Joy. Her latest is China Dolls, a story of the Chinese nightclubs of wartime America that takes place in the Chinatowns of both San Francisco and Los Angeles.
